This painting was done especially for the Clark County Historical Museum's auction to be held June 9th in Camas, Wa. The painting includes items that were excavated from the downtown Vancouver building site of the Hilton Hotel. The bird, a wren, indicates luck or good fortune , while the spider represents destiny.
The painting measures 16x20 inches and is on a box canvas with a warm rusty edge. For more information on this and other items up for auction contact the Clark County Historical Museum , located at 1511 Main St. in Vancouver. The phone number is 360.695.4681 or 360.993.5679.
Jessica and I are doing a mother/daughter show for spring. We are showing mostly birds and botanicals with a few odd landscapes thrown in just for fun. These paintings and more will be available for sale through June 30th at the Pomeroy House Gift Shop in Yacolt. For more information and directions call 360.686.3537.
i'm learning to color outside the lines... i've begun to notice that the work that i like most from others is often the most dissimilar to my own. I'm finding that in my own painting I need very active brushwork to be satisfied. i need to "feel" the work as it happens.
